Our 2021 Fundraising Drive is Continuing.
GE Retiree Benefit Solutions wants to reach out and offer more services and benefits to the 60,000 GE retirees and dependents online. Right now, we rely solely on donations of our members, and we still need your donations to achieve our objectives. So far, we have NOT reached our minimum goal of $15,000. Help us reach our target amount by donating today!

Benefits of Membership
Initiatives and Strategies
The “fight” is NOT over just because the lawsuits have been dismissed! We will continue to be your advocates for BETTER retiree healthcare! You EARNED that right!
To achieve our goals, we will start letter or email campaigns, begin petitions, hold surveys, analyze data, create a formal website with many communication functions and tools, and many other initiatives and strategies.
We will continue to push for an increased and fair Retirement Reimbursement Arrangement (RRA) amount, better customer service from VIA Benefits, and better healthcare provider choices. GE Retiree Benefit Solutions has also put other plans into place to help retirees and their dependents.
We will continue to grow our membership. Currently, we have 243,000 retirees (and survivors), and our projected future addition is at 184,000. This growth means increased revenues, allowing us to create more effective initiatives and strategies so your voices will be heard.
We will continue to advocate for and try to protect all your retiree benefits, whether it’s corporate retiree healthcare, corporate pension, SOCIAL SECURITY, or MEDICARE.
Other Information from IRS on Contributions/Donation and Dues
We have shared another statement from the IRS that says: “Clear as mud…so I’d say “generally”—no, they are not deductible. The last clause….that we “need to disclose that contributions are NOT deductible,” needs to be posted on our website, I believe.” Learn more by visiting this link.
Contributions to 501(c)(5) organizations are generally not deductible as charitable contribu¬tions for federal income tax purposes. They may be deductible as trade or business expenses if they are ordinary and necessary in the conduct of the taxpayer’s trade or business. See Nondeductible Lobbying and Political Expenditures for more information.
Unreimbursed employee expenses (nowhere does “organization member” appear), such as dues, may be deductible. See Publication 529, Miscellaneous Deductions for more information. An organization may also be required to disclose that contributions are not deductible when it solicits them.
